My adventure with her: la Torre. It started two years ago when I decided to go back to my Home land.
Painstaking dedication and patience made me want to follow my dream.
Now the “Torre” is all dressed up for you and for me.
Now I am ready to share this special place which is ready to receive hosts from all over the world.
My eyes are not enough. The Torre needs to be lived and honored by the presence of people who want to keep shining.
People that have been here say that this place transmits a strong energy due to the nature around the house; You can feel the constant maintenence.
When you enter in this reality you understand that you need to stop and rest for a moment, during the winter it is nice laying under the sun on the porch, during summer you can enjoy the silence, the stars and the moon laying on the grass, listening to good music, all accompained by a glass of our red wine doc.
You have the opportunity to discover a new rhytme here. The “right time” does not exist. It is always surprising.
There is the awareness that the city lost.
I offer the pleasure to light a fire in the living room, or the cast iron stove of my bedroom or the grill in the garden.
I offer the silence broken by the sound of the owls.
I offer a ancient reality, the one which somebody had forgotten, the reality in which picking some fruits from the vegetable garden or from the trees is enough for lunch.
I offer my experience and the infinite love for the care of my land.
I, satisfied, give and devote to others what the Torre communicates.
La Torre was built around 1200s. According to history, since it was built in a strategic place, Torre was first considered as a center of sighting for all the surrounding places, then as comfortable resting place for the pilgrims who used to walk from the francigena road through the sea ports to get to the saint land, moreover it was also seen as a sky observatory.
It has been built on the feet of the plateau of the national park in the high murgia, sorrounded by several hectares of olive groves, only 12km far away from the sea and 1,5 km away from the town of Ruvo di Puglia.
La Torre is part of the flourishing farming business of Fenicia di Ravello’s family and it is located close by the fortified Masseria of the family where they produce olive oil and black Troia grapes.
Alessandra Fenicia had taken what her father started years ago, she completed his work in order to make this little mansion a rare jewel due to the sobriety and the respect for the initial imposation of the house.
As soos as you get inside you can see a stone spiral staircase (XI-XII century) that guides you upstair where the bedroom is.
From the terrace you can see perfectly the Duomo of Molfetta at north, and the beautiful Trani cathedral sorrounded by the sea. You can see Ruvo di Puglia at south, where you can go also by walking through the olive trees. Ruvo is a rural town, with a rich background. You can visit the roman cathedral sorrounded by old stone pavements where our ancestors used to dry almonds after the yields right in the center of the old Town. Ruvo also has an interesting archeological collection dating between the VI and the III century b.C. preserved in the Jatta Museum.
